9. Mile repeats, taking some time off, and why we sparkle!
Woohoo! This ended up being a long one, hope you still find it interesting!
We chatted about taking time off from running due to injury, burn out, (or doctor’s orders as in Liz’s case!) and how you can keep the habit alive with cross-training or a dropping down to just 30 min of running every few days until you feel up to going back to your training plan. We talked about running for time goals using shorter intervals - and revisited Liz’s :60/:30 marathon of 3:54 in 2019. We also reminisced about “sabotaging” our training plans in 2019. Your goal can be “run all the races” or it can be train for one goal race and “run your best race”, but probably not both!
We also talked about our favorite brand of running skirts - Sparkle Athletic skirts - and how fun it is to run in costume! Especially in races when you run for time and come in “first skirt”! We also talked about our favorite brand of compression socks, CEP Compression.
We recalled our mile repeat workout from a couple weekends ago, explained what mile repeats are and how to do them according to Jeff Galloway’s plans.
