8. Training, injury and IVF updates. PLUS: are you eating too much sugar?

In this episode we provided updates for where we are in training, where we are with our injuries and IVF treatments. We talked about our workout (that morning) which was supposed to be 4 downhill miles at goal marathon pace. After not knowing if we could even attempt this workout, we kept it to a 3 miles instead of 4, and ended up using 60/30 intervals and ran faster than GMP! P.S. We talk about our weight gain, and the myth of “racing weight”. We take a deep dive into this article about sugar from MyFitnessPal - “8 signs you are eating too much sugar” - the crazy thing is all of these signs/symptoms could also be indicative of RED-s. One “sign” they noted was mood - we mentioned this study showing exercise/physical activity as effective as antidepressants (although medications have their place and purpose!) If you still think you are eating too much sugar, get a blood test - have your doctor check your Fasting Blood Sugar and hemoglobin A1C (or HbA1c). If both are in normal levels, sugar is not the issue.
