13. :60/:30 ten mile PR, ADHD, and handling disappointment (both in IVF and in running)
Oh my gosh, this episode is our longest one ever! We went off on a million tangents as we typically do when chatting (hello ADHD!)
We talked about stationary biking/Peloton, pool running, we recapped our 10 mile race from over the weekend, a PR using :60/:30 intervals (and an automatic PR since we hadn’t used that ratio for a 10 mile race before!) The goal was to see if we could sustain a 9:09 average and we averaged 8:54 even on the hilly course.
We talked about having other kind of goals, aside from solely time based, when it comes to race day. Process goals during training are great, but it’s ok to be disappointed when you don’t achieve the goal you set out for. We talked about handling disappointment in life and running and how similar the IVF journey is towards trying to Boston Qualify.
